Luck Bridge

Pretty much any skill level in the yellow bracket can easily take games off anyone else in the bracket.

While I agree with a lot of the points you made Shadow, I feel you can overcome luck, at least to a degree. Luck is a huge part of the game, but how you react to unfavorable situations determines just how good a player you are. Those who flounder in bad luck and their performances drop aren't truly elite, but those who take it in stride, and work their hardest, regardless of how much luck seems to be against them are those who I'd consider the best.

A lot of people will argue that your defense is bad and that you shouldnt let your opponent take any shots if you complain about shooting luck.Yet this widely depends on your shooting ratio. People who get lucky only need to take 12 shots to make their 7 goals, while others will have to take 20 even if they are taking the same types of shots.

And in response to Julien, I've never said the game has reached it's highest ceiling. I'm just saying most players have crossed into the luck bridge zone which allows them to beat any top player.

If anyone becomes enraged due to random luck factors, it'd be me. But this almost proves my point about the Goaled vs. Timed game.

In a 7 goal game, what you said above is magnified. A single luck goal accounts for 16.6% of the total 7 you need to achieve. In Timed, there is no percentage. You go as far as you go.

If these instances happen in a Timed match, the detriment to you is not THAT bad. You can make up for it, thanks to the removal of the 7 goal cap limit. For example, if this were to happen on your opponent's 7th and final goal, you'd be shattered. If this were to happen in a Timed match on his 7th goal, you get pissed, move on, and try to tack on some offense yourself.

I've been playing timed matches with Berble lately (3 minutes), and we usually only score 4 or 5 goals each. So I would actually think a goal in timed would be even harder to come back from (unless you increase the time limit).

The average amount of goals you scored does not have relevance to the ability to score in a come-from-behind situation. Another player might have better execution with tricks, have a better shot probability, or alternately, face someone with good defense. One game you score 5 goals, another you might score 8.

Timed is timed, whether it's 3 or 4 minutes. Either way it supports what I've said above.
