| - Overview:
I didn't know where to put this but first just let me say that it is very good that everyone here is contributing to keeping the scene alive through this site.
I use to play this game alot before brawl came out. I wasn't really good at it but I contributed to the gamefaqs/gamespot community by hosting tournaments under the username magic155. Back in the day I hosted a tournament series called Mario Strikers Charged Grand Prix. I had 3 tournaments: Brimestone Cup, Bowser Cup and the Dome Cup.
I thought that I would come back to the forum only to see that Brawl killed the scene. I wanted to host more of a team event but discovered that all the clans are roughly gone. But despite that I would still like to do this.
Since I've been gone I don't know the new standard rules other than its not 3 mins but first to 7 goals now. Also since there is a individual league going on right now I don't think it will do any damage to host a team event, even if it is a side tournament. Here are some rules I have already (basic king of the hill team event):
- Each team can have 4-8 players - Before the clan war, both teams will submit a player to play in the first game - Home and away is randomized for each player - The winning player of each game stays on to play the next game, the loser is eliminated from the war - The losing player's team chooses the next non-eliminated player to play the winner. He/She has choice of captain or side first. By choosing side the other player chooses the captain and the opposite is true if he/she chooses captain. - The losing team has 5 minutes to choose the next player or forfeit the next game - The team that eliminates all players from the other team first wins the war
Please contribute to any rules u think we could add. This could be a good all star game after the season between divisions or something.
So now that you guys know my idea how about we do a test tournament. The theme will be an east vs west 6v6 battle. If you want to participate just sign-up by posting in here with the region you are part of. - Region Map:
Players from the West and Midwest regions player for TEAM WEST while players from the East and South play for TEAM EAST. TEAM EAST 1. the-nintendo-master 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Subs 1. 2. 3. 4. --------------- TEAM WEST 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Subs 1. 2. 3. 4.

I'm really excited for this. There's finally a 3rd party involved that wants to contribute and bring the game back. Sign me up

lol my bad man. I remember but I don't remember giving you a virtual console game. I still have my old MSC Grand Prix stuff and it showed that Wise won the league. That's why I thought you were Wise :p. You were tied for 2nd when you were still with GF.

| texas, so east i guess.
but ima just throw it out there, i highly doubt there will be 12 active or good players willing to join this, and if they do... then 99% of our members are all on the east coast.
so idk how east and west will work, unless you swap extra players in east to the west team

| I'll gladly play for the east coast if this thing actually does play out, but ofc I'd rather have other people on that side want me there, too. So if this does manage to gain some ground, then I'll gladly play. | |

| I'm not sure who is from the west or east, but it seems like it will be lopsided. We can do a battle of sorts but with the same rules.
I think we should apply Super Smash Bros. Brawl war rules so:
Player 1 vs. Player 2
If Player 1 beats Player 2 with a score of 7-4, then Player 3 only has to take 3 goals off of Player 1 to knock him out. Player 3 remains with however many goals Player 1 scored in their match (let's see 2) - Player 4 can beat Player 3 by scoring only 5 goals, and the goals scored will carry over once more.
This encourages teamwork and balance of skill. Winner should definitely get a prize of some kind. Not sure how to divide though.

| this sounds like a great idea tnm. only suggestion is counting the game scores may be difficult, as how ssbb wars count stocks, we should count games. aka, if i were to lode to you 2 games to 1, then the next player from my team needs a one game win on you only. but either way is fine, really same concept.
i also have two suggestions for how to pick teams. 1. appoint two captains who then do standard playground style rules for selection of players. make the captains something simple noone can argue about, like darkness and tnm for running this or halr and myself for being owners, along those lines. 2. simply randomize it with an online random generator. only problem is that this could potentially give one team the four best players or so, but it saves people embarrassment of being picked last or whatever.
idk, its up to you guys on how you wanna do it.

idk, its up to you guys on how you wanna do it. Only thing is it gives more advantage to the better player. This SSBB rules prevent a good player from potentially sweeping everyone. So if you were to count games, the player would get a fresh game every time and another potential win. The stock rules make it more fair.

| considering that these are supposed to be the 12 best players, i find it hard to believe that someone is gonna go though and straight 2-0 6 players in a row. but thats just me, im good with whatever | |

idk, its up to you guys on how you wanna do it. Well this is still in preliminary set so i wanna first see how this would work in an east vs west special battle before starting a full on league. As for the stocks idea, i still wanna try it with one game each instead of a best 2/3 set. When we get to an actual league it would be easier for matches to get completed by getting captains to gather their players on at a time instead of playing parts of the war throughout the week (the east/west exhibition is an exception). It will be much longer using the 'stock idea' than the one-game thing. Like you said earlier, the best way to pick teams is with a draft. I have idea to help if this could be a league like if each team has 4 players then wars should be Bo5 (first team to eliminate 3 players wins) so a team will just need all but 1 player.

| Put me in the TEAM EAST and Raif as a sub. We are from Maryland
Also according to Anthony's Facebook he's Connecticut so the TEAM EAST is already shaping out to be TNM, HaLR, Myself, CC, Anthony, and whoever else there is. We may need to adjust some states accordingly
